Advertisement Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Hi bourne, Take a look here The 70cm 50/1.4 ASPH. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
KarimelKrunch Posted April 28, 2023 Share #2 Posted April 28, 2023 I can imagine that the new 50 Summilux will remain in production for the foreseeable future and will also be in short supply.
bourne Posted April 28, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted April 28, 2023 For clarity, I am referring to the “non-close” focusing 50 summilux.
rtai Posted April 28, 2023 Share #4 Posted April 28, 2023 Unless anyone here has inside information the best thing to do is call your local dealer. They should have been informed of any product discontinuation. I am thinking about buying a silver chrome E46 or black chrome E43 version both brass lenses now they are being replaced. My dealer has no stock and neither does B&H so most likely whatever is left in inventory is available.
lct Posted April 29, 2023 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2023 I have no memories of any model remaining in production while a new one is launched but i would ask Leica to be sure.

I have no experience with those bodies. The first M-E was actually a renamed M9, with a new paint job, that continued to be sold after the M240 was launched, at lower cost. I believe the second M-E was a similar M240 that continued to be sold after the M10 was launched. I don’t know if they remained literally in production, or whether they were just using up surplus body parts. There’s talk on Leicarumors that the Q2 may continue to be sold as the Q-E after the Q3 is launched. Edited April 29, 2023 by LocalHero1953
Kwesi Posted May 5, 2023 Share #9 Posted May 5, 2023 I see no reason why the 50 lux ASPH v1 should remain in production after the introduction of the v2.
