35mm conflicting thoughts..

I’ve tried all 35s I can think of. I ended up with my holy grail 35 kit which consists of two lenses. The 35AA combined with the Steel Rim (original). This kit can also be built on a “low budget”: the summilux pre apse v2 to replace the steel rim, and the 35 pre fle (best value 35 in the world in my opinion).

if I could only keep one it could be the summilux pre asph  it’s perfect

My beat around 35 is the nokton. I love that lens wide open and closed down on film.

First shot is with the SR

Second shot is with the 35AA

all on film since it’s the interest of the OP.

And one shot from this afternoon with the Nokton, V1 MC.

All on film since it's what the OP is interested in (Portra 160, 400, and 800)

Hi, thank you for your reply. Your photos look great since I am new to the Leica community and don’t have the short hand of all the Leica models, can you to list here the exact lenses in their full name as it will help for anyone landing on this page that may be interested as something to purchase! (Including me :) )

The Steel Rim is the 35mm 1.4 Summilux V1. If you don't have 30k to spare on it, you can get the V2, which will give you the same thing more or less.

The 35AA is 35mm 1.4 Aspherical Summilux (V3). If you don't have 20k to spare on it, you can get the V4, which is referred as Pre FLE, or 35mm 1.4 Summilux ASPH. It will give you the same thing more or less.

Here's a link that should save you time in the future: https://wiki.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/M_Lenses_x_Focal_Length

Got my test roll back here in Los Angeles at Digital Printing & Photo Studio (Glendale)

Pleased with how these shots came out and definitely fell in love with the M-Body!
