Not really, considering I got 10 yers of use out of the camera.  Bought new, sold with the  wear of hundreds of rolls of film.  So definitely came out ahead.

...hundreds of rolls? You do realise you haven't even broken the flipping thing in yet?

About 150-200 rolls a year (or more depending on traveling).  So probably 700-800 rolls total through that specific cameral, at least.  Authentic patina!  Did I have to say "hundreds and hundreds"?  Shot several thousand rolls of 35mm film through all sorts of cameras.  Lots of MF too.  Nice try though.

Whoa, you're not actually meant to use it!  You were meant to make an unboxing video, then put it on your shelf to impress your friends.

There we go, most lenses had a raise this week. Between 5-9% in Northen Europe.

Are Voigtlander lenses increasing in price in Europe?

It does not seem that Leica has raised its prices in the USA.  Only Europe?

Do not know anything about Voigtländer or other brands, I tend to only shoot with Leica gear. The cameras seem to have raised in price, perhaps lenses will follow with soon in North America.

From what I have seen, it is only Leica that consistently raises its prices.

Obviously they are seeing what the market will bare, and will continue to do so until there is a sales slow down.

Can you name any other camera mfg that does the same?

I don't think there's another camera manufacturer that a) is aspirational for so many and b) has the same level of fanatical brand loyalty of its customers.  Hard to get away with it otherwise.

Exactly.  I think the appeal for SOME is because it is a status symbol.  They like that it is so expensive because it separates them from the plebeians.

These are the same type that are impressed by the hand signed quality control cards, but don't care if the camera does not actually work correctly.

Yes, I am being a bit cynical, but after all those who made excuses for Leica delivering cameras that scratch film, not that cynical...

I love Leica because they are a joy to use, but frankly I feel priced out of their new gear now, but will bless those who buy new so I can buy it off them in a few years at a fraction of the price.  It's how I saved 50% on my M10r..

I’m guessing it is a way to combat the rising strength of the US dollar.

The dollar has been weakening.  And the cameras/gear are made in Europe under the Euro and we are more talking about price rises in European markets.
