Which color film for cloudy weather?

Hi everyone,

I’m hesitating which color film to choose for shooting  in cloudy rainy day.

What are your recommendations?

I have all my fridge all color films that are in production nowadays + Fuji Pro 400H

That's a difficult question to answer because I imagine you would first want to decide on your goals for the shoot. If it's model work (who knows, maybe the rain is atmospheric) then Portra is a favourite still. If you want to dial up the muted colours to compensate for the diabolical weather then you'd go with something more punchy and saturated (typically Fuji).

on dull cloudy days IF i shoot color i prefer portra 800 and fuji superia 400/800

on dull cloudy days i usually prefer to shoot tmax 400 or tri-x400

You have exactly the same sense like me, Portra 800 is my favorite color film and T-Max 400 my favorite b&w

I wish I did! As it is, the only moderately fast colour film that's reliably available where I live is Portra 400, with Kodak's 'pro' price tag of around 50p a frame before processing. When limited stocks of anything else turn up, they tend to get hiked to nearly the same price. If I had the choice (I do have a few rolls left), I'd go for Superia 400. Colourful things still pop nicely even on a cloudy day.
