Official name of the first Leica monochrom camera

Hi,

the second version is called Leica Monochrom typ 246, the current Leica M10 Monochrom, but what was the name of the very first version of this bw camera?

Just "M Monochrom"

I have one and usually use the LUF format of M9M as that saves confusion with the other models.

AFAIK it was never called the M9 Monochrom - the box just says "Leica M Monochrom"

This.  But after subsequent Monochroms, I typically informally write M(9) Monochrom or M(9)M, just to avoid confusion.
