To answer my own question (after some research): it seems to be for the Leicina 8S.

There have been several ND- or "NG" 4-filters for different lenses from Leitz:

The "Leica Handbuch 2002/2003" lists a NDx4 in silver with no. 044-033-006-000 in E 32 size.

The small size of your example would not fit any foto camera lens I know, though the Leicina might be a good idea.

Its Leitz part number appears to be 22125 (Laney (2005), 192).
