julianf73 Posted March 13, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) If you tap the LCD screen in Live View mode, it's supposed to "shift the metering field". I was playing around with that, and I still can't see what it does. All I see is the crosshairs move to a different part of the image, but the exposure doesn't change. And worse...I can't figure out how to get the crosshairs back in the middle without turning the camera on and off. Any ideas?
Advertisement Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Hi julianf73, Take a look here M10-R "shifting the metering field", what the heck does it do?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Because only then you see on LV the image with the planned exposure and beneath a ruler with the amount of over- or underexposure in 1/3 stops

More importantly, any idea how to "cancel" out of it, and get it back to default center? It's really annoying it I inadvertently touch it while in LV, and then Focus Assist stats acting whacky. Tailwagger Posted March 14, 2023 Share #4 Posted March 14, 2023 What metering mode were you in? If not in spot, retry. The + doubles as the focus point for zooming. AFAIK, there is remains no way short cut to re-center... something a lot of us have complained about for quite a while now.

jaapv Posted March 22, 2023 Share #6 Posted March 22, 2023 On most Leicas double-tapping the LCD centers the AF/metering spot.
