Advice for M10-R dng converted to BW using Lightroom 6.1.4

I have a 45MB dng from my M10-R which I undertook very limited developing, ie converted to BW and some cropping (removed 25% of image).

Using Lightroom v6.1.4, the exported BW jpeg was about 9.3 MB

Is that jpeg size expected ?

The reason I ask is,  I've been asked to provide the highest resolution jpeg file, and I'm unsure if I might not have selected correct processing options. (I recall the M10-R can internally create 40MP jpegs.)

To get reference points for the files sizes, I took 6 identical photos, (all the M10-R DNGs were almost identical at 50MB).

For the in camera jpeg settings (6MP, 20MP, 40P) : the file sizes were

Colour 6MP -  3.5MB

Colour 20MP - 9MB

Colour 40MP - 18MB

BW 6MP - 3MB

BW 20MP - 8MB

BW 40MP - 17MB

The BW file sizes seem marginally smaller.

It varies according to the subject matter,  but your high quality jpegs look about right.

When converting in LR, do use the rgb colour mixer sliders to get the best effect. There are subtle, but important variations.

My reply may be a bit late.
1. make sure your color photos are 8-bit
2. use the "export" function.
