I just received a Zeiss Biogon 35mm/2.8 that I rented and have been having a minor issue mounting it to my M2.  The lens fits into the mount fine, but won't turn unless I lightly depress the lens release button.  Once I do, it turns and locks as expected.  The problem seems intermittent as sometimes it does turn without the release button being depressed, but most times it will not.  I tried the lens on my M4 and it worked a bit better there, but still felt pretty tight when it turned - tighter than the Leica lenses I own.  I don't know if this is an issue with the Biogon or just a matter of tolerances between the lens and the mount.  FWIW, I tried my 50mm Summicron on my M2 and it went on just fine.

Anyone else ever experience this with the Biogon, or any other lenses?

It’s the lens. I never had a problem mounting my Biogon on either my M2 or Millennium. The mount on the lens must be slightly off. See if if you can get a different lens.
