Lens repair time?

Hi!

I just sent a Leica lens to Leica Germany. Does anyone know how long the return time is at the moment? Should I expect many months?

My experience with Leica Germany has been very good.  But it does depend on what type of lens, issues needing to be addressed, etc..  Leica will also send a quote for the work to be done if the lens is out of warranty too.  So that takes time as well.  Maybe others will chime in on their recent experience, but if you wish to provide more details about the lens and what you want done, that would be helpful too.  r/ Mark

It depends.
if it is something that can be done straight away, it may be well under a month..
If there are parts needed, or if it has to be done by a specialized technician, you may be waiting (with Leica) for a parts supplier which may take up to months (or not), or end up in a queue.(or not)
So there is no answer to be found here. Call Leica and ask them as soon as you have your estimate, they should know.

I had a 50mm Noctilux f0.95 sent back for an overhaul, it took 9 months. 😮

I sent in my 35mm APO M to Leica USA, they forwarded it to Germany. Leica USA told me 4-6 weeks, but total turnaround time for me was 8 weeks.
