jagstang Posted February 16, 2023 Share #1  Posted February 16, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I just bought a Rayqual LTM-M adapter to use with a digital body, as I read they're the best ones you can get new since Voigtlander discontinued them, plus they cover the LED lens detector. But when I received it, I tried it with a 35mm f2.8 Summaron and noticed that the top dead center is ever so slightly off. A bit annoying considering these are not available in Europe and I had to get it shipped from Japan. I'm aware that some lenses (e.g. Collapsible Summicron) are supposed to have the scale at around 2 PM, but this one is not one of them, judging by how it's perfectly aligned on my IIIg. Is this to be expected with a new adapter? The lens seems to front-focus an inch when wide open at the closest distance, but I think this is common in some old lenses, plus it hasn't been serviced. spydrxx Posted February 16, 2023 Share #3 Â Posted February 16, 2023 Adapters typically aren't off. Measure its thickness which should be exactly 1mm. If the measurement of its thickness is correct, then it is usually another issue: most often people aren't properly locking it down, or sometimes their LTM lens isn't fully screwed down.
