Homemade M Mount Lens

for something just a tad different 🤓

i acquired this homemade M mount lens from a rather enterprising chap around 2 years ago. he had taken the 38mm f2.8 lens from an old soviet 'point and shoot' camera and wedged it inside a m39/LTM lens body

the 'new' lens is RF coupled but not calibrated. all focus is dove via the EVF or liveview. the aperture blades work, but the markings aren't correct. super compact lens - even compared to my 28mm Elmarit APSH v1

this frankenstein lens is super fun to shoot and gives a rather nice rendering. all these images are shot slightly stopped down (by about what you can see in pic 3 above)

Before the war in Ukraine there were a number of sellers in Russia and Ukraine who would offer a variety of these kind of 39mm adapted lenses. The focusing unit from a very cheap Industar lens is often used for the conversion. I found them to be cheap and fun.
