Thank you to everyone who took part in last month's 172nd Barnack's Monthly theme,Ā whichĀ was filled with more than 1,600 pictures, excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme. Ā Ā Also, thank you to everyone who helped to make itĀ another successful month by generously posting their pictures and in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it an interesting and rewarding experience and I hope it encourages you to share more of your pictures with us!

Thank you all so much for contributing by very kindly sharing your photos because it's you who keep Barnack's Monthly going.Ā  Without your pictures there could be no Barnack's Monthly.

TheĀ 173rd Barnack's Monthly theme for February 2023 is:

Ā Doors, walls, or windows

This month's theme is anyĀ picture that contains a door, a wall, or window, or the word "door", "wall", or "window".

For example, itĀ could be a front door, a back door, a skylight window, a barn door, a bedroom door, a kitchen door, a shop door, Harrod's window, Macey's window, the door to the rabbit hutch, a doll's house door, a bomb-aimer's window, a submarine's front door, a porthole, a Shoji Japanese paper wall, a kitchen window, a conservatory window, a stained-glass window, a birdcage door, the Dorchester's front door, a trap door, a stage door, the news reel "Window On the World" - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free!Ā Ā Ā

It would be a big help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view. Members have asked if we'd very kindly name the camera and lens usedĀ because it's interesting to know.

The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with this month's theme in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting! It doesn't have to be your best ever shot andĀ it's not a competitionĀ so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures, seeing others' take on the topic, and enjoying it!

Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts (but to avoid swamping the thread would you very kindly please post no more than ten pictures at a time), pictures that have been posted on the forum before are fine, and any equipment as long as it complies with the forum's rules (either camera or lens or both made by Leica or the Leica-Sigma-Panasonic "L-Mount" Partnership). Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember there'sĀ no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread.Ā So, if you'd like to show your acknowledgement or appreciation that someone has posted their picture thenĀ instead of posting a commentĀ please use the "Thanks" buttonĀ that you can find at the bottom right of every post.

Please post away and I look forward to seeing your interesting interpretations of this month's theme.

Note: Moderator Pop has very kindly assembled links to all of the past Barnack's Monthly threads as a single archive that can be found here:Ā Barnack's Monthly Index. Ā Thank you, Pop!
Ā
Pete.
