Hot shoe cover for SL2-SL2-S cameras?

My newly purchased SL2-S does not have a hot shoe cover, that small piece of plastic that slides in when no accessories are being used that require the hot shoe.  Most photos I've seen of the camera do not have one in place.   Is mine missing one, or is this usual for a new SL2 or SL2-S?

It's usual. The camera is weather-proofed and doesn't need one. This has come up before. You can buy a third party one cheaply on ebay if it worries you.

I think the camera looks better with a hot shoe cover.  I got a package of them on Amazon for $5 bucks.  

Even though the camera might not need it, Leica should've included one for the pennies it would've cost them.

I use the Leica Q2 one, it fits perfectly
And yes I also prefer to have the hot shoe covered even though all my cameras are weather sealed
