R8 problem with ISO display

If I read the manual properly, I should get an ISO number in the viewfinder display. I don’t get an ISO in viewfinder or display on back of camera.

If I recall correctly, on the R8, you have to press on of the ISO up/down buttons on the back of the camera to display the ISO. Also if I recall correctly, it's different on the R9, where it's displayed all the time.

I have an R8 and R9 and can check for you when I get home tonight. But as John said there are some differences between the two cameras, so sometimes when u read the manual for one camera it doesn't fully work on the other. But they are close enough that you might confuse the two in operational regard.

I am using the R8 camera, I assume the manual that came with it is for the R8. I do get the ISO displayed on back panel but only when I push a button up or down, I thought that was constant didn’t need a prompt. No matter what I do I never see the ISO in the viewfinder.

Ah ha, well then, maybe in the R8 the ISO is not supposed to be displayed in the viewfinder.

Thank you all for the responses. I figured it out, I overlooked reading the quick start brochure, need to multiple click the up button for auto ISO read. I am surprised, the viewfinder does not display the ISO. Only way to check the ISO if you set it manual, is with light shutter press.

Ah yes, I never use the DX, I always set it manually.
