fotografr Posted January 24, 2023 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I photographed this man back in the 1990s for a story in USA Today. I came across the photo today when looking through my archives for another image so I decided to do a Google search for him. What came up was his obituary, saying that he died in 2015 at the age of 87. He lived near Green Bay, Wis, and when talking to him while doing the shoot, he asked me what else I did besides taking pictures. I said nothing else, that's all I do. He looked puzzled and said, so that's all you do? Nothing else? Just take pictures? He couldn't believe somebody could actually do that as a full time occupation. I suppose to someone who got up at 4 AM to milk cows and didn't go to bed until the sky was black, that looked like a pretty easy life. We took a lot of shots outside with his cows and barn in the background, then went into the barn which is where this photo happened. There was a litter of six kittens maybe a week old behind a bale of hay and he snatched this one up and just stared admiringly at it. M6/50mm Summilux pre-asph/Fuji Provia 100 Welcome, dear visitor!
