Tele-Elmar 135mm problem?

Hello everybody!

Just received my second-hand Tele-Elmar 134mm f4 lens from an eBay seller and found out that the small ring in front of the aperture ring (the ring that holds the white dot for telling the aperture setting) is loose on its upper side (when holdign the camera in shooting position. It is however still "glued" on the "under-side". Apart from being a cosmetic problem, would this have any effect on functioning (e.g. ffecting the aperture ring) should it became completely loose (as so I can take it away)?

Not sure if my English was good enough to describe the problem, I'll try attaching a couple of pictures.

Thanks Charles for your suggestion, I should have put it into lens sub-forum, as you said, not sure I can move it now.

Regarding the lens, I have paid 300 EUR a couple of weeks ago, which was about the cheapest I could find in Europe. My concern is that if that ring get un-glued (un-done) and lost, would that affect the aperture ring? Has that ring any other function apart from holding the white dot?

L.E. I think I can still return the lens, as this "problem" was not mentioned in the listing.

L.E.2. I said "glued" on the under-side, but I did not mean that glue was used, but the fact that on the low side of the lens the ring is still attached to the barrel as oposite to the upper part which is shown in the pictures.

Well, it functions well, both the focusing ring and the aperture ring have a bit of "play", but given it is a 60 years old lens (my lens was made in 1965) I am pretty happy.

I would not mind if that ring "problem" is only cosmetic, my concern is the possibility that the said ring might get un-done and, then, affect the lens' functionality. As it is now, I am very happy to use it.

Lens is sharp even at f4, handles ok (still getting used to it), and I, quite often, manage to nail focus using the OVF (well, checking the back screen is a must, always). And I have always been a "tele-guy", so it fits me well.
