Has anyone repainted the markings on their Leica lens DIY?

I’ve got a 50 cron silver that I love and will never sell but just getting bored of its aesthetics lol and have fallen in love with the aesthetics of the limited edition attached (just the repaint of the letterings).

Just wondering if its a simple removal of paint and repaint job and if anyone has had any experience.

Thank you!

Use a red Lacquer Stik specifically made for infilling engravings. You rub it over the engraving and the paint comes off the stick and fills the engraving, wipe off any excess with a cloth dampened with white spirit and you have a clean perfectly filled engraving. The stick itself is a waxy paint that is slow to dry in stick form so it lasts a long time, just slice off the dry end before using. You can buy them around the world and they come in many colours, even black should you want to convert it back. You'd have to experiment to see if you need to remove the existing paint but if there is still any depth to the engraving the Lacquer Stik should still fill it.

euro-industry charges 14 Euro to ship from Germany to France a 3E stick of white paint; I should  find Tamiya paint in a mortar shop I know not far.

Well buy one from France then, duh.

A quick search on the web for the  lacker stick leads to euro-industy and gravierbedarf both in Germany, no retailer in France,

Well hard luck that says definitively how much they cost in Europe, but they cost much less in the UK, probably as a result of Brexit 😆
