IQ with macro adapter

How much image quality degrades when using macro adapters (like 7Artisans LM-L) with Leica M lenses?

I want to use Summilux 35 and 50 at about 40-50cm focusing distances with it.

M lenses focus down to 70cm. The reason is, that the rangefinder mechanism and the parallax control in the viewfinder are designed for the distance range Infinity to 70cm.

The lenses are full useable at 40cm in normal use. With an (close focus) adapter the Leica camera cannot read the focal length of the lens.

No experience with the 7art adapter but M lenses doing well on closeups tend to work well on the Leica macro adapter too. My favorites are Elmar's 90/4 and 50/2.8 also Tessar 35/3.5 but i would not expect fast lenses to shine as well for macro.

I mean, the latest Summilux-35 do have the ability to focus very close. So the question is how does original FLE 35 performs with the macro adapter.

Yes good question indeed. I have no SL camera but i've ordered the adapter for my digital CL so i will tell you what i found when i receive it. I would not hold my breath though as the CL is a crop camera so it won't say anything about FF performance at edges and corners of the frame.
