Had a delightful surprise when I listened to my latest messages:

"Rolo, It's Ivan here. Ivan Azzopardi from Malta.

Can you hear me? Oh, this is your answer-phone. Sorry.

I just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year, Rolo.

Sorry about the call-collect; I had no change.

I will see you in Valletta, mio Amico.

I love my M6TTL and my Sekonic Studio Deluxe III.

Hallo s.m.e.p.

Werner

Hello Werner,

I hope you don't mind me answering your question, since I also have a Sekonic L-398 from the 80-ies. The 'Blechscheibe' as you name it is for lowering the light to mesure, when there is plenty. In low light you can pull out the 'Blechscheibe' and slide it into the back of the exposure meter. But now you have to use a different arrow on your meter, the white one with an L (low) next to it instead of the orange one with an H (high) which you use ...

So with 100 iso and measured 40 on your scale , you should have f-stop 2 and speed 1 /30.

I bought mine new and as I remember there were plenty of Blechscheiben with it with different perforations in them, which when you used them gave you the f-stop on the top-scale directly with 1/125 speed, according the slide you used, and the iso.

For instance: When you use the standard slide, this gives you the measured f-stop on the topscale directly with 1/125 without turning the adjustment-scale, when metered with a 25 iso film. Correct me if I am wrong since it 's a long time since I used it, I use a Minolta IV now. The Sekonic works better in cold temperature, once in Beyjing the Minolta stopped working and I had to switch to the Sekonic ...

Cheers, Etienne.

Just found this site today. Excellent resource.

Might as well join the fray and include my M6 kit.

1997 M6 Classic - one of the last. Also my 50 Summicron, 28 VC Color Skopar, 1951 90 Elmar. The 28 and 90 screwmount lenses share an adapter. Convenient and compact.
