I Love My M6!

I love my black classic M6, too. Honestly, I do. Sadly, after only 3 rolls of film into it, my M6 decided that it did not love me and is now on its way to DAG for repair (shutter wound and stuck at 90%).

I hope to come back here soon with a picture of it fresh from DAG's evil laboratory for misbehaved cameras.

Hi all,

My first post here... as this morning my first Leica arrived (M6 0.85, and 50 Summicron). It has been years since I picked up an M camera (an old friend's), and there were a few things I'd forgotten.

1. How small the camera is

2. How heavy the camera is  :)

3. How great it feels in the hand - showing that ergonomics is more than just molded hand grips.  :D

4. How bright the framelines are!

Tomorrow, I'll run some film through it. (despite the forecast of thunderstorms)

Sweet Sweet Sweet.

Thanks, Trev. I was nervous, buying it on eBay... but the seller was great (selling off her father's gear - he'd mainly used Nikon cameras, and had used the Leica only a few times, preferring to keep it as a collector's item), and both camera and lens were in mint condition.

She was happy selling it to someone who plans to use it daily. I got both items for a good price (good in terms of Leica prices).

I see you're from Guildford. I live in Budapest now, but I'm originally from Sussex.

3/4 of a year ago I sold my M6 Classic 0.72 with my 35 Summicron IV German Made( I cry everyday about selling this lens) because I didn't like the 0.72 Magnification. I only shot 35mm (and sometimes dream about 24).

I the meantime I moved on to a beautiful T2, such a joy to use and clearly the best P&S ever made.

But finally I got a really nice M6 TTL with the rare 0.58 magnification. Shot the first 36 frame yesterday in less than 1 hour. The viewfinder is so amazing!

It also came with the rare version I of the Voigtländer 35 1.2. A beast of a lens. I never saw such a sick build quality before and I even shot canon's 85L and 50L. This thing is build like a tank but really smooth and buttery.
