philipus Posted August 24, 2014 Share #823 Posted August 24, 2014 Very nice M6 Lars, congratulations. I've just mounted the same type of Summicron on my TTL for use as time allows during a business trip next week. A great combo indeed. desu Posted August 25, 2014 Share #824 Posted August 25, 2014 I noticed that some M6s have the "M6" logo like the M7. What's the deal with those? Why did Leica change that to "LEICA M6" and then back with the M7? When the red dot already says Leica I don't see much sense in writing Leica again on the front. madNbad Posted August 25, 2014 Share #825 Posted August 25, 2014 Poking around on this forum and RFF (plus a couple of other places) it looks like the M6 only logo was a short lived after the move to Solms. With the change from Leitz to Leica some top plates were made only indicating M6 and the Leica red round announced the company. Some indications point to the M6 only was a European release only but it would be good to hear from someone with more information.
drk_1981 Posted August 25, 2014 Share #826 Posted August 25, 2014 I've got my M6 (1994) a few months back ... my M8 got kind of degraded to be my secondary camera ever since that day. I love my M8 but my M6 drives me crazier. When leaving the house I somehow always grab the M6 instead the M8...

TheGodParticle/Hari Posted September 7, 2014 Share #829 Posted September 7, 2014 I just got an m6 classic and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The shutter dial size and reversed shutter speed is slightly annoying though
tookaphotoof Posted September 7, 2014 Share #830 Posted September 7, 2014 About the reversed shutter speed, that's the way how I think about my M240.
Leica Fanatic Posted September 8, 2014 Share #831 Posted September 8, 2014 I just got an m6 classic and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The shutter dial size and reversed shutter speed is slightly annoying though Historicaly though it is actually the correct size and way round, hence the unofficial 'classic' designation
MattMaber Posted September 8, 2014 Share #832 Posted September 8, 2014 I didn't really get the 'reversed' dial. Seems to make sense to me so maybe Im just odd.

TheGodParticle/Hari Posted September 9, 2014 Share #834 Posted September 9, 2014 About the reversed shutter speed, that's the way how I think about my M240. Good point ... For those like me who started with digital M's it's the opposite but from what I notice the m6ttl has the dial like the digital M's too

philipus Posted September 9, 2014 Share #836 Posted September 9, 2014 I didn't really get the 'reversed' dial. Seems to make sense to me so maybe Im just odd. I don't mind either. I have an M4 and a TTL and find both equally easy to use. Btw, great photos, Matt. What platform do you use for the website?

philipus Posted September 12, 2014 Share #839 Posted September 12, 2014 Anyone know how I can get a black Leica Dot? Leica put one on for me during service. Not sure it will work, but you could call them and ask if they can send you one for a fee. I once ordered red dots from Adeal (adeal.com.au). They might perhaps have black ones too.
