I have been enjoying all these "I love..." threads, I thought it was high time I contributed...

So:

I love my M6 TTL, I love my Leica III, and I think it is possible that they love each other!:D:eek:

Taking these pictures is the best thing my Canon 20 D has done yet:D

Andrew

Question on vintage of M6.

Recently I saw a M6 on eBay that did not have the normal logo on the front of the camera.

Instead of it looking like.

Leica

M6

All it had was

M6

And NO Leica logo above it. Is this a older M6, a special production or just a one off that maybe had the top plate/cover replaced.

I think the early M6s were made that way.

My better half seems to have taken a liking to my M6, I have not seen it in days, only the film backlog going up...

hmm

I guess it's time to buy another M6!

Well that's one way to rationalize a second M6!

Mine is that I want to have ISO 400 film in one body and ISO 3200 film in the other.

Any other good reasons to have two film M bodies? The more the merrier!:D

Hmm, I guess it doesn't have to be an M6 though. Could be an MP, an M3 ... any of 'em. Perhaps this subject deserves a thread of it's own.

I bought a mint black M6 a few months ago. Then I got a mint chrome version so that I could use both mono and slide film. Lenses are 35mm 50mm and 90mm. I decided the M6's were too beautiful to use on walking trips so bought an old M4-P for that purpose. Then someone offered me a mint Titanium M6. Where will it all end? Should I perhaps keep the Titanium model and trade in the other two for an MP? If I got an MP, would I put it in a secret shrine? Will my sad skeleton be found, kneeling before a still-pristine MP, in a hidden room when the house is demolished some time in the future?

Or should I just get out more and take photographs, before it's too late?

Hi Tim,

Sorry could not resist to correct in ps :D

I think that you should not sell your M3

I had the same idea. The last months I use more often my 50 years old M3 than the 5 years young M6ttl. The M3 has a nicer viewfinder and feels better in my hands. The only pity is that a built-in light meter is missing and the Leicameter MR is difficult to read. But the results are always exact.

best regards

Marc

See I find myself using my M6 more because I enjoy the convenience of the built in meter. Yes I do have a hand held meter but find it quicker to use the M6.

Maybe I will just load the M3 with Tri-X and strap the 50 cron on there and keep both with me. Use the M6 and 35 cron for slides.

We'll see.

For sure!

I am an M6 TTL user, and prefer it to anything else Leica Made or makes. To me its the logical camera. Originally I planned on having an M7 also so I wanted consistency between the two bodies, however I cant afford an M7 and am happy to have another M6TTL.
