James Lu Posted November 29, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can confirm using 50 Cron DR on a M11 with Visoflex 2 is a better way to utilize its close focus capability. Although Visoflex 2 is a bit chunky, but it is still prettier and more convenient to use than the original goggles, in my opinion. Given 50 Cron DR can not be used on a number of digital M bodies, this combination is probably one of the best to better utilize the M11 and 50 Cron DR. Basically, 50 Cron DR has the same close up ability as the newly release 35 APO and Lux lenses on M11. Eventually, Leica will come up with a upgraded 50mm version like their 35 peers but the price will be also hefty. 50 Cron DR is still a great lens to have and use even today.
Advertisement Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Hi James Lu, Take a look here M11 and 50 Cron DR, a good match with Visoflex2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Stevejack Posted November 29, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2022 I hear nothing but good things about the DR, never tried it though. The Visoflex is great for all older and wide lenses. I really like using the visoflex with pre war uncoated lenses - being able to preview any aberrations / flare really enhances the their creative potential. I also don't seem to get along with external finders in general. I picked up the SBOOI with high hopes but struggle to see the 50mm framelines. I think my eyes must be too deeply set into my skull or something, but it's put me off spending money on any other external optical finders.
