Swinging on the beach

Gareth,

I'm sure this looked great in color, it is also splendid in B&W. Great composition and detail. I'll bet when you opened the file on your computer you would have liked the seat of the swing to be more over the sand then at the edge of the water.

Judging by this photo you must love the D-Lux2, If the airline carry on restrictions prevented my taking my full kit on vacation I would have no reservations in taking just my D-Lux2.

Thanks both of you for your comments.

Richard, Yes, the seat wasn't where I would have liked it. I have another shot with it lower set but the rest of the composition isn't well balanced.

As for the camera. I am impressed with it and with the 16:9 setting in particular. I am surprised by what it can offer.

To be honest I am using it more than my brand new R-D1...which is a concern!

Gareth,

I got my D-Lux2 first and then got the R-D1, I am currently using the R-D1 the most now but still always carry the D-Lux2. I really did consider for an upcoming eight days in China to take just the D-Lux2, but in the end just knew I would want to take all kinds of low light pictures.

Richard,

I like the results of the D2 but using it doesn't give me much real joy (at least not like using the R-D1). My R-D1 concerns me though as its my first experience with an RF camera and while I love using it I am concerned that I may start to miss the variety of a zoom lens.

I have started to wonder if the Tri Elmar might be a solution, but I can't see it performing well enough in low light.

Decisions, decisions.
