Regular firmware updates

It would be nice if Wetzlar came out with firmware updates every now and then, tweaking the performance of the M10 (and keeping its fan base very happy). For instance, earlier this year Nikon came out with a small update for their discontinued D500. Of course we had the logical Visoflex update recently but regular and small performance updates would be really nice. However, I guess all focus is on the newer products, which is understandable of course.

But they have. I just updated the camera today. The latest Firmware 3.22.23.38 for M10 is here, but badly positioned all the way at the bottom of the page.

They did indeed as I said 😉

They just sent me the email today. But I don’t know what the update does exactly.

If I don’t know exactly what LEICA M10-R: 30.22.23.34 update is going to do then I don’t bother. My camera works fine.

I mean. There’s only so much they can do. What do you need in terms of improvement and performance? It’s not like they can give us faster auto focus.

You may look into the release notes, published together with the firmware.

The update only adds new profiles for the recently introduced new lenses, nothing else.

Obviously that’s the first thing I did. All that does is it tells you how to update.

... the content of the Update is written on page two of the release notes😉.

... ah, sorry, it's written in German, but in English it's almost the same: _NEW: Lens Profiles

The Leica Site is notoriously confusing. Here is the release note:

Yea. Saw it

in case anyone missed it. 😅

I didn’t even see it.

does anyone really expect anything amazing for the M10?

Honestly. If it works, leave it alone.
