Novoflex (Germany) in the 1970s entered into a collaboration with Leica for R4.  The lens was offered in 400mm and 600mm.  The finished lens was matched to the R4 in olive green.

The lens above is 400mm/5.6.  With a APO 2x on my 10-P Safari it looks like a RPG 😉

I have the same issue with my Telyt 400 and 560/5.6 lenses. I used them years ago shooting my kids’ sports. Now my grandkids are getting to be that age, I’m afraid to use them in public!

Beautiful collection!!

My limited collection includes a 50R Summilux e55 that was sitting at Leica LA, I shot a few images and handed it back thinking I had enough 50's to keep me happy, no need to adapt lenses, the safari coloring was unique and likely I would never see one again.   A few days later looking at the imported images in Lightroom I was liking what I was seeing.  The lens had all the qualities of a classical 50, beautiful glow wide open, very nice improvement in contrast and resolution stopped down.  Not unlike the ver. 2 M Summilux, it had a beautiful smooth quality that exceeded both early M lenses.

I am thinking of purchasing a M11-P in Safari if only Leica would make it and not too late in the M11 cycle.  The Reporter models have me wondering if it's the new safari, they're beautiful but the chrome dials of the safari are my preference.  In the meantime Leica introduced a case in a color I hadn't seen previously and it is my quasi-safari solution.

You have posted a much smaller case a few months ago - did your collection grow? Olive lenses do tend to have offspring, and I see a little bastard child from LLL tucked in there...😊

Does anyone knows who is the US actor who commissioned this M11 in green?
