Interesting development between Leica & Xiaomi. A phone camera with a interchangeable Leica lens M mount. No dedicated shutter button like the sony. Your thoughts? Innovative or gimmick?

Those who already have M mount lenses, already have a camera and won't see a benefit in leaving the camera at home, but schlepping lenses with them.

Those who don't already own M mount lenses won't be too happy to have to spend quite a bit on lenses on top of what is undoubtedly an expensive phone.

So, who's this for, exactly?

That's without touching on the crop factor, lack of bokeh, losing character or cumbersome phone usage while a lens is attached.

It’s a step towards a possible future. Might provide an elegant way to autofocus M lenses thru a movable sensor.  Contax AX meets Leica T.  Go for it, Leica.

This integration of phone with a Leica must be why T-Mobile objected to Leica’s use of “T” for its APS brand.
