These days, it's a common misconception to think 'the Leica glow' was some veiling glare inherent to pictures from uncoated lenses under strong backlight conditions.

In fact, it's the micro-to-macro-contrast ratio that yields a certain impression of reality and three-dimensionality ... impossible to see in small-format internet reproductions of poor-quality scans on the monitor in your web browser. Instead, have a look at real-world well-crafted prints.
