Or anodised is anodised aluminium ?

Yes, it is. Not made of brass, thus lighter. Disadvantage: the silver anodized lenses do not match the colour of the silver chrome camera bodies.

I just got myself on “a list” at my local Leica store too, even though I don’t have any solid details… Is it brass? aluminum? 1m MFD? 0.7m MFD? silver only? or black as well??!

I just love the look of it.

I’m on a waiting list for months now : p One of the best 3 lens Leica has ever made.

Thanks for the link! 200 grams seems like it has to be aluminum. I would think brass would be a lot heavier. Looking forward to finding out. Infinity lock and 1m min focus I’m surprised to see.

If I’m not mistaken the original was around 225g or so, so does not seem too off from that

Oh it’s out!! Interesting there is a second hood with room for filters, does that mean that the lens does not accept filters?! The original fits e41..hope this one does too : )

Thanks for pointing that out. Two hood is interesting. I wonder if both work with e46 filters attached?

Seems like a prototype but it’s available on the JP leica page. It says e46, but the lens size looks the same as the original, so how does it go from e41 to e46?!

The PDF mentions the two hoods. What a surprising feature. I’m guessing they both work with filters.  https://leica-camera.com/sites/default/files/pm-83814-EN_Datenblatt Summilux 35 - Classic.pdf

It's nice to see Leica is trying to save us money by going with e46 😀
