atournas Posted September 10, 2022 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) There are threads almost for everyting in this forum, like "Black and White Image Thread" or "I like film... (open thread)," and many more, apparently with images of variable qualities. What about a thread where members would upload their most favourite shot---ONE per member, if the thread were to carry some weight---taken with a Leica, of course? If the website's infrastructure allowed for later replacement of an uploaded image, the thread would become sort of exhibition of Leica owners' achievements. evikne Posted September 14, 2022 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2022 Four days and no response? People are probably afraid to be the first. 😉 I have several favorites, but this one is probably at least in the top five. I like the peace and tranquility in the picture. But I had to desaturate the shoes a bit, because the neon colors drew too much attention. 😄 Welcome, dear visitor! pippy Posted September 26, 2022 Share #5 Posted September 26, 2022 (edited) Can't possibly choose one 'Favourite' but to choose one favourite from the last few weeks and on a purely 'snapshot' level I do have a soft spot for this one so it will have to suffice. jcraf Posted October 3, 2022 Share #6 Posted October 3, 2022 This is probably my favourite, and certainly my luckiest, shot. It was shot at the Marine lake, West Kirby, Wirral, UK. The large lake is man-made and enclosed by a concrete walkway, on which people can be seen. Beyond is the tidal river Dee, and beyond that, can just be made out the North Wales coast. erl Posted October 8, 2022 Share #7 Posted October 8, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Each year for MANY years, I have created a file called TOPSHOTS. Into it I occasionally drop a particular favourite of mine. Result: I have 1000's of top shots. I would never pit one against the other in terms of favourite. So I have randomly chosen one that I think fits the requirements for this ' singular' thread. It is a murmeration, with audience. Welcome, dear visitor! Chimichurri Posted October 24, 2022 Share #11 Posted October 24, 2022 (edited) Probably is a shot I took recently of a pigeon. It’s not amazing but I think it could look good printed big. I’m going to go into this here. I think it’s important and I’ve never really talked about it as a Leica rangefinder newbie. This picture is a good topic for someone coming into Leica or arguing that focusing is too difficult and why I shoot a rangefinder in 2022. the first thing is this shot wasn’t luck. I designed it that way in my head. I don’t think I could’ve gotten it this way if I had just ran at birds all day, because this is a really unpredictable situation. This was taken with the 50 Summicron. That’s problem #1 because even at f8 you don’t have that much leeway. The photo isn’t cropped. That’s the way it came out. Here is the original RAW to show you I didn’t touch it other than just turning it B&W Welcome, dear visitor! The reason I say that is because it wouldn’t have worked at any other angle. The white bird had to be there and set against the other black ones and against that walkway. Because I knew it would all be basically a dark back background for the white bird. That’s a challenge because pigeons don’t follow instructions well It’s impossible to take that picture if you don’t first visualize your shot and then slowly get your settings correctly and then execute the vision. And I would say that’s why I shoot the Leica M. For shots like this one. Nailing that shot without autofocus at that distance isn’t easy. I took 2 or 3 shots in a row. And that was all. and another thing, if I had a sony or a Fuji and I put a square on those birds and just started to spray shots and just ran at them I wouldn’t have gotten that shot either. I would’ve gotten a shot but not that one. I wouldn’t have stopped to think long enough, because its So easy to just press the shutter, run at a bunch of birds and have every single one of the 300 shots you took in 5 seconds be in focus The way a rangefinder forces you to shoot really does change your photography. and this was the final result. for those who care I was at f8 it also makes a great wallpaper for my phone Edited October 24, 2022 by Chimichurri
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Alberti Posted October 31, 2022 Share #12 Posted October 31, 2022 My favourite changes by the month. I must be totally unique in this 🤭 In a few months I'll have to have to post another shot I'm afraid. And break the rulez. Welcome, dear visitor!
