Advertisement Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Hi jerzy, Take a look here Intriguing Leih-kamera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Giuliobigazzi Posted September 9, 2022 Author Share #22 Posted September 9, 2022 Found a better picture of this camera. 73611. Apart from the missing d.r.p you can clearly see the viewfinder detail that is more rounded has been retouched, I suspect this top plate is from the same mold, would be interesting to check thi serial also to see if it correlates to 72401 Welcome, dear visitor! Probably a bestriebsk before its time! Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Is you camera engraved Tiranty Paris?
PG Black nickel Posted November 10, 2022 Share #26 Posted November 10, 2022 No this Leica II does not have the Tiranty mark but the engraving was not necessarily for all. You can see many Leica II or IIII with the Tiranty sales certificate but without the engraving on the base or the cover!
Giuliobigazzi Posted November 11, 2022 Author Share #27 Posted November 11, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ah i see! thanks for the insight. 72401 was in the same batch as yours. Both delivered to Tiranty very early
Giuliobigazzi Posted November 11, 2022 Author Share #28 Posted November 11, 2022 I should add that 72401 had two delivery dates. First in November ‘31 then feb ‘32 in the same tiranty batch as your 72489. Trying to establish if this batch was the first or if there were earlier ones. PG Black nickel Posted August 30, 2023 Share #29 Posted August 30, 2023 Hello Giulio, I've just seen that your Leica II 72401 was in the Wetzlar auctions catalogue, with a nice surprise and some new information about this camera that had been delivered to Dr Henri Dumur, then Managing Director of the Leitz company! Incredible, its journey through the roads of Europe is incredible... Congratulations again on this find!
