Took these with my CL and the M Elmarit 28mm 2.8. Was quite pleased considering the low light and relatively slow max aperture.

Australian parrots may be infected by a very serious diease (PBFD) causing feather loss and beak mutations amongst other thing. Being so contagious, bonded pairs and group can be infected together.

River Wye and Hereford Cathedral. CL and 35mm 1.4; took the same shot with a SL shortly after, no difference to my untrained eye.

There's a big difference: the SL is much heavier and more expensive. 😀

A sad picture Geoff.

Not long for them to live.  Not contagious to humans.

all best...

That’s right David and I would speculate that the spread of the virus overseas may be in part due to illegal trafficking in our protected wildlife. We have a wild population near our home but this was very sad to witness up very close. Camera distance less than 2 metres. Focal length 56mm

This story is as close as you would ever see to reportage from me.

What a great image. Talk about the "decisive moment."

Thanks Rob. It was a pretty amazing scene, this massive beach all but empty apart from a group of very hardy kite surfers in full wetsuits and balaclavas tearing it up on the pretty lively waves a few days before Christmas. And then the sun came out 👌
