Stay warm, my friend; DC seems to be in the middle of a bad weather, if you still are there. Singapore has a better weather for sure.

Thanks to COVID II realised that I can work from almost any location so we’ve decided to stay in DC for the foreseeable future.  Yes it’s cold but there are compensations.  Closer to the grandkids.

Here, in this photo, the shadows of the face and from my monitor I see them very dark.
It's not a criticism, it's an observation.
Unless my monitor is miscalibrated.
I have been following many of your photos and in general terms I have liked all the ones I have seen.

Thank you very much. Indeed, the light was from almost behind, which made the shadowy part dark. My concentration was more on the light part.

The landscape in particular is just beautiful Jayne.  The balance and arrangement of shapes, the different textures, the drama — the way the clouds look like giant trees on the horizon.   I’d have that picture on my wall any day. 👌

Sad to see that kind of garbage in such a beautiful natural setting. Those thing will take decades to decompose.

I would totally agree, but the more I looked and thought about the way the tyres were caught through and around the felled tree limbs going across the water, I got the idea that they may have been placed there to serve a purpose.  These woods in Nant Gwernol are actually the end of the line for a small steam railway, Tallylyn.  They have recently been cutting back trees that border the line, the banks are very steep and drop down to the water, this may have been to catch and collect the felled timber and stop any damage further down stream.  I guess I will know if it's been cleared away on my next visit.

Looking at the neat cuts at the bottom of each tyre I’d say they have been intentionally placed there.
