M8 + 50mm Summilux ASPH problems

I have just bought a 50mm summilux for my M8. I have used it twice. The first time all was fine, however today I encountered 2 problems.

Firstly, I noticed after attaching the lens that it wasn't mounted straight. On further inspection I had managed to twist clockwise beyond the normal stopping point so that looking down the barrel the white mark was left of where it should be. I turned it anticlockwise and it reassuringly clicked in place.

Then I shot a few shots at F/1.4 which were all sharp so I breathed a sigh of relief. However when turning the aperture ring to F/2 it jammed. On applying further pressure it managed to turn. However now it continues to stick quite dramatically when turning from f/1.4 to f/2 BUT feels fine when turning back to f/1.4. I experimented further and if I point the lens downwards it moves easily but sticks if horizontal or upwards!

Does this sound alarming to anybody or is it normal for this lens and will loosen with time. I don't think the two problems are related?? Are they??

Sorry for the long explanation. Any thoughts?? Dan
