Popular Post fotografr Posted July 28, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 28, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) This portrait is of an author and was done at her home for a book jacket. When I walked in I was looking around for a setting and when I turned around the woman was standing right there with this very bright light coming in from her front entry. I was struck by the way the light curved perfectly around her head so I had her stay there while I tried the shot. I knew her hair was going to get blown out but figured it might be worth it. They ended up using one of the "safer" shots I did, but I prefer this one. It was shot with an M6 and 75 Summilux using Tri-X. Welcome, dear visitor! wizard Posted July 28, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2022 Wow, this has an almost magical attitude to it. I much like this shot, and would not have gone for a 'safer' one at all. This one is outstanding. Andy
stuny Posted July 28, 2022 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2022 Absolutely delightful. She looks familiar to me, but perhaps I'm thinking of an actor.

benqui Posted July 29, 2022 Share #6 Posted July 29, 2022 Beautiful portrait Brent! I like it a lot, it is much more interesting as a „conventional“ portrait.

Louis Posted July 29, 2022 Share #8 Posted July 29, 2022 Brent, I had not my glasses on and when I took a quick look at the topic, I red "Auto" portrait; then, when I opened the post, I was surprised and said to myself, Brent is cuter than I thought!.... My apologies for the confusion!

StS Posted August 3, 2022 Share #13 Posted August 3, 2022 An outstanding portrait indeed. It is another proof that especially black and white film overexposes gracefully. The grain adds a somewhat softer look. The small imperfections actually add up to a perfect portrait. Stefan
roydonian Posted August 4, 2022 Share #14 Posted August 4, 2022 There is an almost-magical quality to this image - one can almost imagine that the subject is about to move an/or speak.

Stefan Thank you, Stefan. I got lucky with a very lovely and relaxed subject and also with the light. I agree with you about the special quality of b&w film.
