Giuliobigazzi Posted July 19, 2022 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey all, I’m trying to disassemble my Summitar to clean the helical. It is a 1946 model. Now when I remove the three screws at the back nothing changes. There are two other indentations between the screws that don’t appear on earlier or later versions. Maybe this has something to do with it. Does anybody know how to get it apart?

250swb Posted July 19, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2022 If you type 'Summitar repair' into the search box on YouTube you will get many videos about dismantling and reassembling a Summitar.
Giuliobigazzi Posted July 19, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted July 19, 2022 I have done just that, but can’t find any info on this particular version. Others seem to just unscrew with the screws removed but this seems different
jerzy Posted July 19, 2022 Share #4 Posted July 19, 2022 a photo showing what you mean would help. There are 2 mechanical versions of Summitar, one with one grove on the tube and one with 2 groves. And with round and hex aperture. Firstly you need to separate tube and pull it out. Then unscrew the ring then you can proceed with 3 screws and opening the helicoid. Left photos show the newer version with 2 groves, right the older verions. Notice different mechanical construction of the tube and helicoid Welcome, dear visitor! Giuliobigazzi Posted July 19, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted July 19, 2022 That’s a great help thank you, my version is like the one on the right, I thought I’d just be able to unscrew the rear piece but I guess not. What I was confused about was the two extra holes between the screws. I thought it was these preventing me to unscrew
