In the lens center shutter, which allows flash sync at all shutter speeds. The focal shutter is in the camera.

I skipped the Q2 so I'm curious to see its eventual successor. There's not a whole lot I'd change beyond the natural expectation of an improved sensor, and faster processor/af performance. I'd say highlight weighted metering but the Q2 has that now so I'd expect that to carry over. I'd feel fine if it had the same resolution as the Q2 and 28mm lens.

If they do opt to do anything with the screen then I'd far, far sooner it were a tilt mechanism (I love the one in my Z9 that snaps to both vertical and horizontal positions). I have a great dislike for screens that flip out to the side as I don't find them to be especially practical from a photographic perspective, plus it's something easy to knock/damage. I fear they would implement a flip screen however to appeal to the selfie/influencer crowd as I was surprised how aggressively Leica went about putting the M11 in the hands of various people on social media, so there's a part of me fearful that they will seek to appeal to vloggers with the Q3 and its design/features.

faster shutter, s4000 would be great (so I could avoid the ND filter, I live in a very bright light region)

And… I dont know how it is called, but the feature that corrects perspective for architecture, long time ago Leica made an inquiry about it, if Q/Q2 users would be interested, how much would we be ok to pay for it…

I hate selfies and the instant sharing values, but I often do macro at ground level, and therefore a tilt screen would be a great improvement for me 😎

Fully agree.

For me, as I have shot manual mode all my life a smartphone is one thing, the camera another. I enjoy if I can use my photos SOOC, always no or minimum photoshop…

Another common name for central-type shutter is leaf shutter.

I am a manual photographer since... 60 years.
Smartphone is ok for internet, communicating... but for me photography is photography, and I want to keep it simple because otherwise I have no pleasure. So photo app and remote shooting would kill my shooting poetry feeling.

That’s fair enough, just thought it would help with the lowdown shots, instead of the flippy out screen. 

I use it a lot for those shots were my back and knees would complain.

Maybe your experience, but I’ve had zero issues with the Fotos app.  I always remove the connection every time I put the cameras away.

I usually use it, apart from remote shooting, to download my files to my iCloud account then delete the camera from the app. I then reconnect the camera when I want to use it again to download.

As I’ve said I’ve never had an issue with it.

My wish for the Q3 is that Leica not cover it in the fugly material they used to cover the front panel of the Seal limited edition Q2.  🤮

Yours is a valid user scenario, but my remark was about using the app as a replacement for tilting screens. It's clunky, slow (40-60 seconds to connect, if things go well), not ideal if you're haldhelding the camera, and good luck using it with gloves. It's ok-ish for static subjects like landscapes, but for more immediate shots it's a no-no, by the time it's ready to go, the magical moment is gone.

I've been away for the last few weeks using M6 and Q2. I have an M10-R, bought recently, I wonder why, until I wanted to do some ceilings and the Visoflex saved me a trip to hospital. 

I bought the Q on the launch day, I think June 2015. The best impulse purchase (closely followed by an impulse buy of the Summaron 28/f5.6). Upgraded in July 2019. It has been the best practical everyday camera for 7 years, never tire of it.
