Folks I did a photoshoot today with a subject who wears glasses... rudimentary outdoor shoot with VE24-90 and Elinchrom One flash more or less between 4.5 and 8 aperture.

I'm reviewing the proofs and notices something strange, maybe borderline pixel peeping level but a problem nonetheless... the focusing is so precise with this new FW and obviously the lens is so sharp that the eyes are ever so soft but the eyewear lens is tac sharp!!! it seems like our eye-detect focusing grabs the eyes but focuses on the glasses!!

I'm pretty sure that there is no fix other than slowing down the shoot and focusing manually but an interesting observation to share... thought I ....

BpLeica,  Your OP thread title might be a typo.  The SL2 FW is up to 4.1.  Also, I found the eye detect works best with people without glasses as Gotium suggested at Post 2.

in the latest firmware the eye detect is much better.

Glasses will always be an issue, not sure if it is a contrast af issue. I find the green square a little distracting when shooting portraits, I like the square on the face better.

I had no issue with the Sony on this.

Thank you it was a typo as I own both cameras. Will see if it can be edited.
