I agree about the possible repaint. Don't worry about screws v rivets. I have 6 or 7 of these early IIs with screws. The camera is genuine - the round cam is the most significant point V FSU fakes which have a triangular cam. This also has the 'toilet seat' under the speed dial which is correct for its serial number. Jerzy is right about the stop pin. The lens should screw out without removing that. If fact if you move the focus knob up next to the pin the lens should screw out more easily. Early IIs have a slightly yellow rangefinder window to aid focus.

I shall never use it, and it seems a shame that others cannot enjoy it. I am considering selling, but do not know the best way forward. I am loath to use Ebay and won’t go down that path.

If you decide to sell then I would be interested in buying. I am looking for a nice Leica II to use.
