On Camera Flash Recommendation for SL2

I have a really good off camera setup with a Godox transmitter and a set of AD200s.

I'm starting to do some macro shooting for fun.  I've seen some conflicting information about using non Leica on camera flashes.  I'm simply looking for a bit of fill light for macro shooting outdoors.  Are there any reliable third party on camera flashes for the SL2?  I understand that I'll be giving up TTL and shooting manual if I go the non Leica way.

Thanks!

At this point any other flash on camera does not have TTL functions and using another mount flash can work in manual mode but using the wiggle pin of the hotshoe as a trigger.

You can use canon, Nikon,... if you have any issue on the camera just use some tape to cover the other contacts . Sony flashes don't always fit on the SL2 hotshoe.

Godox and Profoto have announces triggers that can do TTL with the Leica cameras. No word at this point on a dedicated flash. But soon you can use the godox trigger for Leica with your AD200 in TTL.

At his point I can't say too much about Macro shooting with a on camera flash. Often the lens is long and drops a shadow and some people use ring lights for that.

I think the Godox V1 is a good flash, with great battery life. You could add the Godox AK-R22 diffuser to it to soften the light and bring the light closer to the subject.

That's a great tip thanks!  I got the Good ring light that plugs into my transmitter.  Perfect solution.

I just bit the bullet and ordered the Leica SF 60 for an on-camera flash, have more traveling to Europe coming up for business and thought it would be handy in some of the factories and trade shows.

However, I am looking forward to upcoming offerings from Godox and especially Profoto...This will be a real game changer for those (like a good friend of mine) who shoot mostly in-studio.
