Michi D Posted June 19, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I played around with long time exposure using the Q2M. I am looking at the pictures in CaptureOne. Wehen I push the images, I get a strange effect as if I would have two sensors with slightly different sensitivities. Does anyone know what it means? Is this something known? Thanks for you answers... ISO 400, 6s, F3.2 Welcome, dear visitor! jankap Posted June 19, 2022 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2022 Ask Leica to solve this! The sensor is in two parts. The sensitivity of the two halves is aligned afterwards. Perhaps manually. This should not be.
KateStarr Posted June 19, 2022 Share #3 Posted June 19, 2022 I’ve seen posts here from people having this same issue with their M10M. I don’t know what the underlying issue is, but I would reach out to Leica about it.
Ba Erv Posted June 19, 2022 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2022 Sorta looks like LENR that was truncated.
LocalHero1953 Posted June 19, 2022 Share #5 Posted June 19, 2022 This has shown up on the forum before, though I can't remember which cameras, nor how it was resolved. IIRC it is usually when an image is pushed hard like this i.e. it wouldn't be visible if it was 'correctly exposed'. It reveals minute differences (in calibration?) between the two halves of the sensor. For that reason some of the comments have been along the lines "this is is normal/expected" behaviour. (I have no view on the matter!).
Michi D Posted June 19, 2022 Author Share #6 Posted June 19, 2022 Hi guys, Ok, thanks a lot this is very helpful. I will reach out to Leica to find out if that is something to be expected. I was definitely pushing it, put on the other hand (super) low light is something that the camera is super good at and this phenomenon might truncate its functionality… Thanks again, if you are interested I will keep you updated

wolfrl Posted December 26, 2022 Share #8 Posted December 26, 2022 Hi. What was the response from Leica? I have the same problem in Leica Q2 and I am looking for a solution. Welcome, dear visitor!
