Q2M - Strange effect during long time exposure

Hi,

I played around with long time exposure using the Q2M. I am looking at the pictures in CaptureOne. Wehen I push the images, I get a strange effect as if I would have two sensors with slightly different sensitivities. Does anyone know what it means? Is this something known?

Thanks for you answers...

This has shown up on the forum before, though I can't remember which cameras, nor how it was resolved. IIRC it is usually when an image is pushed hard like this i.e. it wouldn't be visible if it was 'correctly exposed'. It reveals minute differences (in calibration?) between the two halves of the sensor. For that reason some of the comments have been along the lines "this is is normal/expected" behaviour. (I have no view on the matter!).

Hi guys,

Ok, thanks a lot this is very helpful. I will reach out to Leica to find out if that is something to be expected. I was definitely pushing it, put on the other hand (super) low light is something that the camera is super good at and this phenomenon might truncate its functionality…

Thanks again, if you are interested I will keep you updated

Hi. What was the response from Leica? I have the same problem in Leica Q2 and I am looking for a solution.
