I have the new X ProllL trigger, AD100 Pro flash and M10 (firmware 3.22.11.52).  HSS and TTL are not working and I think it is due to the old firmware of the flash. I am trying to update but I have not been able to connect the device to the Mac. I'll keep trying...

I took the flash devices to the dealer today and he kindly installed the new firmware. Now everything works as it should, including HSS and TTL.

That's great news. Which Leica bodies have you been able to test it on, out of curiosity? I would assume it is compatible with all bodies that have the TTL protocol? I ask because when Profit released their Fuji TTL remote it was only compatible with certain bodies... they must have changed their TTL protocol at some point but that is just a guess.

I'm sure that the Profoto remote will work on my SL2-S and Q2, but am wondering if it would work on something like my M9... not too many times I would use it on M9 but it would be nice to have anyway.

Thanks!

Hi,

the trigger works (TTL, HSS and all You want) with the M10, Q2 und the SL2  but not with the M11.

Godox homepage:

Compatible

Leica cameras (TTL autoflash): Leica S, SL, SL2, LEICA M10, LEICA Q2, LEICA CL (more to be updated) Cameras that have PC sync socket.

Kind regards

Franky

Did you test the M11? I was hoping that Godox just didn’t have the opportunity to test the trigger and thus didn’t mention it. I thought the M11 and SL2 do use the same protocol!?

I tested my M11 with the x pro II Leica.

There was no TTL or HSS possible, but of course manually.

My question to Godox Europe (in Poland I think) was answered that they had no xpro and no cameras.
I'm going to try Shenzhen now

 try update the flash firmware?

I think godox has some more work to do on the firmwares.

Some flashes have updates, other flashes that are older don't have Leica compatibility.

The SL2 works in TTL, with V1 and AD400P, but you can't change compensation on the trigger and reflect in the units.

M11 does not work in TTL, exposure is incorrect, maybe the M11 needs an update too.

Unless I am missing a setting, I seem to have an issue with the Xpro IIL on the SL2 with respect to the exposure/histogram not refreshing on the EVF screen when in M exposure mode (display setting to PASM).

It doesn't show on screen any change in the exposure triangle and the histogram doesn't change either.

When in A, P or S exposure mode, there is no such issue. So it is specific to M exposure mode.

When I switch off the Pro IIL, there is no such issue in M exposure mode.

It's not a big issue as one can expose for the ambient or studio light accordingly with the trigger off first and then switch it on.

I am curious if I am the only one experiencing this. If so it may be a setting I missed.

Thanks in advance for any confirmation.

when the camera has detected a flash with TTl the exposer preview is turned off to compose the shot in the studio, just like PAS

Thanks for the reply.

i am still confused as I am not in TTL mode. I am in Manual mode.

Also in Aperture priority, or the other modes (P and S), the exposure preview is shown. So I am not sure I understand why a TTL camera would not show the exposure in M mode but will show it in A, P or S if not for a bug ? It can’t be by design ?

Lastly, with the Xpro N trigger the M mode works perfectly and the exposure preview is shown.

it remains a bit of a mystery to me.

that is because you are not using a Leica flash/trigger. do the communication between the camera and flash does not exist. the whirring is different from Nikon.
It is just like putting on a pocket wizard plus, it has a single center contact, all the other contacts will be ignored. the camera will send the trigger the impulse true the center pin. all other flash communications are done in the other pins.

I can understand that. What I don't understand is why with the Leica flash trigger, I have exposure preview on when in A, P and S modes but not when in M mode. I am just trying to understand if it could be anything else other than a bug.... Thanks for your help.
