I’ve got one on order.  I am still hopeful to have it with my strobes before Christmas…

I was never a Godox user before. Ever since getting my XProll-L trigger one month ago, I’ve purchased 4 strobes from 100Ws to 600Ws and am in the process of using them…. I sure hope Profoto put their act together and start ship their triggers to Leica users soon.

The original Profoto press release specifically said the new device “trigger” will work with all Leica cameras but I cannot speak to exact features.  Being primarily an SL2 and SL2-s shooter those were always my main focus.

Leica cameras from the SL, M, S and Q-series will be TTL-compatible with the new Profoto Connect Pro. Estimated availability date for the Leica version is November 2022.”

Looks like everyone is have to move from up-down trigger, but some bad reviews on the wheel hardware.

What bad reviews on the "wheel hardware", aka Connect Pro? I actually had a problem with the Nikon version of the Connect Pro. Was showing "No Board" under "Hardware Variant" in the menu; was not working with the X2D. Eventually, with some help from Profoto support, I figured out that the flat wire inside the trigger housing that connects the main board with the hot shoe board was inserted the other way around. Took me about 15 minutes to fix, after I found the right size Torx screwdriver. Reassembly was a bit tricky, to make sure that all buttons and the wheel work as they should, but I succeeded. Other than that, the trigger eats batteries like there is no tomorrow...I guess  because of Bluetooth. On the other hand, and a bit surprisingly, the trigger works even when really close to the strobe. Today, I put an A2 on a bracket very close to the lens, with the trigger in the hot shoe about 10 cm away from the strobe. Tried about 30 shots in TTL and it worked like a charm - didn't even have to switch to channel 8. This is an improvement from the "up down" trigger.

As for the Leica variant of the Connect Pro, I talked to my dealer last week and was told that the firmware wasn't working properly. But in the meantime there has been a Profoto announcement re firmware A5 which specifically mentioned Leica. So, fingers crossed that it will start shipping soon.

Great to hear that Profoto finally shipped the Connect Pro Leica version!

I may not be a Profoto user as I am still happy using Godox lights with XProll-L but I hope that more Leica users explore Off camera flash lighting as it adds so much punch to outdoor portraiture! Natural light is great, just not often available at the right intensity & direction at that moment when we photographers require. So the strobes/flashes come in to replace the missing light required plus enhancement.

So, in the meantime I can also report from practice, my Connect pro arrived on Friday.

Tried it out intensively - everything works perfectly, perfect combination of SL2 and Profoto: TTL, HSS, ... everything is there!

In my eyes, this is a huge step forward for the Leica system!
