Rotterdam has an architecture festival this summer of 2022. The festival organises toours across roofs of high buildings to give vvantage points.

Several large building have an external ramp that has been designed for the Festival. So a skywalk has been installed outside some buildings as well as running through down-town: the Rotterdam Rooftop Walk.  The skywalk was designed by the architects of MVRDV.  Here is a link in English.

I like you to add your pictures to this thread!

Here is the central location of this years festival: The Nieuwe Institute, the former Architecture Museum of Rotterdam (that lost its name and purpose because of funding problems, as things go). You can see the ramp that hugs the building and the sky floor

with all kinds of exhibits, like of really small turbines

and of art - Renoir, placed by the museum Boijmans. So in all - it is the formula of the Floriade / Expo.

And then we have the exhibit of the tiny houses. The proposal is to make small villages on the roofs so the housing shortage is solved (I have seen that on other continents - but I always thought those houses were just a minute contribution of the problem)

while we had to wait before entering the skywalk, I had a chat with this couple, a photographer and her army guy.

She said she did not expect to see any other Leica shooter, maybe there were only a handful during the month of this event ... and she smiled as she took her all new Nikon Z7 from her small un-camera bag with a light weight almost all-plastic zoom. That lens weighted less than my Elmarit 21mm.
