clasami Posted May 29, 2022 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thought I use LR Enhance on an image that I took with 75mm crop. To my surprise, the result was less optimal. Checkerboard artifacts in many places. Anybody else seen this? Michael Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 Hi clasami, Take a look here Q2M Lightroom Enhance. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gotium Posted May 29, 2022 Share #2 Posted May 29, 2022 I thought that was mostly to fix the wormy artifacts from Fuji sensors. If you are looking to focus an out-of-focus image, Topaz Sharpen AI does amazing things, sometimes. Sometimes not.
clasami Posted May 29, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted May 29, 2022 It certainly does a good job on Fuji files. It has two settings: "Raw Details" and "Super Resolution". Raw Detail is not available for the Q2M (and that setting was first introduced to fix the worms with Fuji files). Super Resolution does a good job on Sony and Fuji file in upsampling. But not on Q2M files, it seems. Thanks for pointing Topaz out. But I didn't want to use the Enhance funtion fo improve sharpness. I wanted more pixels out of the 75mm crop. The face above is a very small crop out of the 28mm image. Below is the full 75mm crop. Welcome, dear visitor! clasami Posted May 29, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted May 29, 2022 Upscaling using the Lightroom Export Dialoge results in the same pattern. C1 does it without the pattern. Must be something in LR that doesn't agree with the Q2M files.
Overland Posted July 4, 2022 Share #5 Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) Unfortunately, enhancing in LR doesn't work with my Q2M either. Have the same spots with large pixels. And unfortunately, most external denoisers and resizers don't work on the Q2R either ("Unknown file format"). Bad luck. Still, I love my baby. I assume that only denoisers and resizers that read raw format would have issues. If you pass TIFF files, there should be no problems. All Topaz software accepts TIFF format. This is correct.
