Leica M11: First impressions

My black M11 arrived this morning.

First impressions are positive; build quality appears very good, the camera has a nice heft in the hand, the viewfinder is bright with easy focusing.

I am surprised that the battery must be removed before the memory card can be removed, but at least the silly removable bottom plate is no more.

Here's a first random test shot, with the Voigtlander 21mm f./4 Color Skopar.

I am looking forward to shooting with this camera.

Is this your first M, Viv?  What are you comparing it to?

I previously had a Leica M9 and before that a Zeiss Ikon ZM.

I disliked the M9, because of its wildly inconsistent white balance and electronic glitches.

The Zeiss Ikon ZM was a wonderful film rangefinder.
