hi there, for the people here using summicron 50 v4 canadian made... the opening ring in yours does chatter a bit if pulled back to front of the front element emitting a light clicking sound?

Welcome to the forum . I don't remember about my Canadian v4 but both my German v4 and v5 emit a light clicking sound as well. First time i notice it BTW.

My Midland makes a clicking sound as well.  I checked my 35mm 2.0 v1 ASPH and it made a clicking sound.  The 21 SEM and 50 ASPH did not.
