JimmyCheng Posted April 15, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased this little gem for the love of small&light rangefinder lens formula which Leica seems to have forgotten long ago. Guess what, it’s such a perfect weekend lens for outdoor walks! It’s sharp, compact, and being f2.8 is not too shabby at all. I highly recommend this lens for anyone who dig the 28mm f5.6 summaron look but prefer something faster and longer. It’s no small feat for Voigtlander to jam so much lens into such a small package. Here’s my video review, where I compared it to the 28mm summaron and have quite a few sample shots, enjoy! shirubadanieru Posted April 15, 2022 Share #4 Posted April 15, 2022 Thank you as always Jimmy! Just got mine now and testing it on film with the MP. Looking forward for the results. The size is indeed amazing, especially without the hood!

cboy Posted April 15, 2022 Share #6 Posted April 15, 2022 Is it better than 40mm rockstar/astrihori lens you reviewed earlier? I imagine it would be but gave no comparison to that or other 40mm lens though. Thanks for the review nonetheless.

Good point. I regret posting that. JimmyCheng, I apologies. Your review is better than anything I ever posted on YouTube.
kivis Posted April 21, 2022 Share #8 Posted April 21, 2022 Reminder? a 40mm lens brings up 50mm framelines? yes?

Yes but you can buy the LTM version and use a 35mm adapter, which is what I’m doing
Mech-Dragon Posted April 24, 2022 Share #10 Posted April 24, 2022 Looks like a great lens, thank you for the review! I am very tempted to purchase one in LTM so that I can have a modern lens option for my Barnack while still being very tiny.
shirubadanieru Posted April 24, 2022 Share #11 Posted April 24, 2022 Here are some pictures taken with the Heliar on Portra 400 in case you missed it on a separate Heliar thread. Tiny lens, great fun to use especially when traveling. And the build quality is amazing, pretty much like carrying a Summaron 28mm, but instead you get a 40mm f2.8! Welcome, dear visitor!
