jbl375 Posted April 14, 2022 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I finally bought an Otus 28mm lens (Canon mount) to my new SL2 because it could fit my two cameras by adaptors, i.e. Sony A7RIV with metabones and SL2 with Sigma MC21. The Sony paired with metabones gives me fast focusing path to zoom in part of the screen for critical focus. When it comes to SL2, it is a deep plain to know that it is impossible to use the joystick to zoom in! As I search for alternatives, people keep saying that the only solution is to use BL button to zoom in. But how?! Please lecture me the steps to use BL button to zoom in for critcal focus. Advertisement Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Hi jbl375, Take a look here Focusing otus lens (Canon mount) with SL2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
matted Posted April 14, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2022 Hold down on the button you would like to use for magnification until the selection menu pops up, and select “Magnification”. I wish they would allow the joystick button to be configured as well. I had to switch a button over to Magnification for magnifying SL lenses while set to MF. I know I can use auto-magnification but I dislike auto as I just want to punch in and check focus when EVF or focus peaking fails me.
